Tips for Debris Pickup Services and Dumpster Bag Pickups
Here are a few tips to keep our debris pickup service prices lower for our customers
- It is not necessary to have the dumpster bag or debris pile placed at the street, as long as we can park "relatively" close to the dumpster bag or debris pile.
- For dumpster bag pickups or debris pickups containing lots of plaster or ceramic tile, place the debris into contractor bags, but do not overload the contractor bags. This allows us to load the debris into our trucks faster and cleaner, keeping out prices low !!
- Give some thought to loading dirt. Dirt can spread easily into areas in your yard, rather than paying to throw it away !! Dirt is heavy, resulting in higher disposal fees !!
- If you requesting dirt to be removed, please try to cover the dirt pile with a tarp, to keep it from turning into mud !!
- Try not to let dumpster bags or debris piles sit for long periods of time before calling for a pickup. Try to schedule a pickup as soon as the bag or pile is ready. When drywall sits for a while and gets exposed to water, it crumbles, making it difficult to remove and load. Also, pests such as bees, wasps, rats, etc. love the environment created by dumpster bags and debris piles.
- For pickups containing shingles, place the shingles on tarps rather than in a dumpster bag. Also, if possible and accessible, created several piles of shingles on tarps in various locations around the structure. We ask this for many reasons. First of all, you don't need to drag the shingles into one pile, which is very labor intensive. Secondly, it is much easier to load separate piles rather than one big pile. Keep in mind, as long as the piles are relatively accessible.
- Do not overload the dumpster bags. In most cases, we hand-load the bags and return the bags to our customers for future use. If you have extra debris needing removed, simply placed the debris next to the bag.
- For deck debris pickups, make sure no boards or rafters are longer than 8 feet in length. If they are longer, we need to cut them to a shorter length in order to fit into our vehicles. if pieces are shorter than 8 feet, this make for faster loading, keeping our priced low !!
